10 fenig 1942, type I. Rare. Weight 0.77 g. Accompanying the coin is a certificate from ghetto coin expert Jack Sarosiek, confirming its originality. A coin of this design was issued on June 14, 1942. This was done at the arbitrary order of Chaim Rumkowski, the Superior of the Jewish Elders. To his surprise, the coin's design did not receive approval from the occupation authorities. Hans Biebow, Rumkowski's superior, criticized not only the appearance, but also the diameter of the coin. Its issuance was halted after 10 days.
