Gold 3.48 g. An extremely rare, nicely preserved and historically interesting coin. Bolko II was the nephew of Casimir III the Great and also the grandson of Ladislaus the Short. His gold coins were designed on the model of Florentine coins with a lily flower on the obverse (inscribed "BOLCO DUX SLE" in the legend) and an image of St. John on the reverse. They are, after the Lokietek ducat, the first gold coins produced on Polish soil.
